OBJECTIVE:

The main objective of this engagement is to assist the company’s Controller’s Department (CTL) and Private Sector Operations Division (PSOD) in performing risk data management, trade finance program automated processes, and ensuring that the data and applications are ready for use by ORM and PSOD systems.  This also includes support to other emerging bank-wide applications and tools that will be used for various business processes, analysis, and management reporting.

SCOPE:

The Associate Data/Business Analyst will be responsible to work with data owners, system owners, users, OIST infrastructure and solution delivery team, and other relevant parties in identifying data and automation requirements for systems/tools of CTL and PSOD, including a 3rd-party package solution.

The Associate Data/Business Analyst will have a strong understanding of CTL and PSOD business processes and solid knowledge of modules, tables, views, data management, and reporting concepts. His/her expertise in understanding the business as well as its technical composition will result in efficient gathering and analysis to support the bank’s organizational functions, business cases, and systems requirements.

The Associate Data/Business Analyst will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of multiple data analysts within the team and ensure that all data and processes are validated based on the defined requirements and business logic. He/she will also ensure that all project deliverables are of high quality, all of which are in sync and aligned to the CTL and PSOD system guidelines and 3rd Party’s specifications.

The Associate Data/Business Analyst will also be responsible for generating and compiling management reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues related to risk management systems/tools of CTL and PSOD,  He/she will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

He/she will also fix the system issues, which include but are not limited to the enhancements and/or creation of systems packages, procedures, and reports.

The Associate Data/Business Analyst will work under the supervision of and report to IT Department – Digital Solutions Unit. He/she will work closely with CTL and PSOD decision makers, system owners, and end-users.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform systems and data management of CTL and PSOD systems, including the extraction-transformation-loading (ETL) components of the system, which includes but are not limited to:

Provide advanced analysis of new and existing data and its relation to business processes and logically defined by CTL and PSOD users which complies with the departmental systems and tools.
Review and reconcile large amounts of data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for management
Maintain and enhance the existing data infrastructure supporting RMS and PSOD systems/tools in such as trade finance management, risk rating analysis, pricing, capital adequacy, and rating migration.
Address data requirements for CTL and PSOD reports by carrying out the following:In-depth Data and Systems analysis;
Design and develop relational databases based on industry’s best practices;
Data design/modeling and mapping;
Data import/migration and transformation;
Data cleansing;
Design and build data input or data collection screens;
Design and develop reports.
Work with relevant parties to troubleshoot operational issues associated with data utilized in the systems/tools of CTL and PSOD.
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, and alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas and assist management in driving business decisions based on data.
Write technical documentation related to system requirements, data model, ETL, and other data management activities.
Conduct knowledge sharing on the data management process of CTL and PSOD systems/tools as needed.
Oversee training and mentoring of other Requirements and Data Analysts.
Provide orientation and training to end-users for the new system.
Assist in work prioritization of ongoing and future systems, database/data warehouse development initiatives in CTL and PSOD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
Five years working experience in technology, information management, relational database design and development, business intelligence, data mining, or statistics.
One year or more of working experience with credit risk management-related business processes and data is highly desirable.
At least 5 years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL;
At least 5 years of experience in data analysis and data integration;
At least 3 years of experience in the analysis of financial data and applications;
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in SQL and PL/SQL
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in data warehousing process and any reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects, Power BI, Anaplan);
Intermediate to advanced experience in loading data from spreadsheets, text files, etc.
Must have good knowledge on:

Understanding of entity-relationship diagrams, and can read and understand the Technical Reference Manuals
Understanding of the Oracle E-Business Suite database schema, for a range of application modules.
Understanding of basic database concepts: e.g., instance, table, tablespace, data files, database structure, indexes to fine-tune programs and solve program failures.
Understanding of basic Unix Operation system concepts, programs, directory structure, and basic commands (e.g., vi, sh)
Familiarity with the technical aspects of Unix, the Oracle RDBMS, and tools
Knowledgeable in Oracle E-Business Suite’s system administration tasks, e.g., define users, application responsibility, register functions, menus, and procedures.
Exposure using the following programming languages/databases/application/ approach/tools:

Data warehousing / Business Intelligence
Oracle database, Oracle PL/SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MS Access.
Advanced Excel functionalities.
Visual Basic, VBA.
Exposure in Phyton, BIRT Eclipse and Cognos & Power BI Report Working Tools would be an advantage.
A deep appreciation of the Agile or rapid application development (RAD) method
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Ability to translate ideas and business requirements into fully functioning ETL Oracle packages.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate and document requirements, processes, and workflows for use by various individuals of varying technical abilities.
Excellent organizational skills
